Currency Strategy: The Practitioner’s Guide to Currency Investing, Hedging and Forecasting

It is estimated that up to sixty percent of the world’s money may be located offshore, where half of all financial transactions are said to take place; however, there is a perception that secrecy about offshore is encouraged to obfuscate tax evasion and money laundering. McCann provides a detailed analysis of the global offshore environment, outlining the extent of the information available and how that information might be used in assessing the quality of individual jurisdictions, as well as examining whether some of the perceptions about ‘offshore’ are valid. He analyses the ongoing work of the Financial Stability Forum, the Financial Action Task Force, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development. The book also offers some suggestions as to what the future might hold for offshore finance.

Floyd has answered for many in this book a way to both understand and use the Commitment of Traders reports. In my thirty-five years as a registered broker and author of my own book, I find that at times someone takes a complex subject and makes it easier to understand. Floyd has done this with his book. Not only does he make understanding the COT easy, but he ties it to some technical trading ideas that readers can try out, using historical data on their own. Truly another good technical book for those looking to understand this often overlooked subject

Long/Short Market Dynamics: Trading Strategies for Today’s Markets

You are about to visit the trading rooms of sixteen men and women. These traders live in different countries, follow different markets, and use different methods, but all share several traits—most importantly, their dedication to trading. They are utterly serious about their work, while most of the amateurs who supply the bulk of their winnings are chasing the excitement of an adrenaline rush.
Why would a person who is trading for a living talk about his or her method instead of grinding out profits in silence? Winners know full well that success in trading does not depend on knowing “the secret.” There is no secret—only hard work, focus, attention to detail, being careful and long-term oriented with money, and having a bit of flair.

Entries & Exits: Visits to 16 Trading Rooms

The present book contains much more materials than the author’s previous book The Science of Financial Market Trading. Spectrum analysis is again emphasized for the characterization of technical indicators employed by traders and investors. New indicators are created. Mathematical analysis is applied to evaluate the trading methodologies practiced by traders to execute a trade transaction. In addition, probability theory is employed to appraise the utility of money management techniques. The book: identifies the faultiness of some of the indicators used by traders and accentuates the potential of wavelets as a trading tool; describes the scientific evidences that the market is non-random, and that the non-randomness can vary with respect to time; demonstrates the validity of the claim by some traders that, with good money management techniques, the market is still profitable even if it were random; and analyzes why a popular trading tactic has a good probability of success and how it can be improved.
